The Haji and Mu’tamer’s Gift Charitable Association, also known as Hadiyah, has launched the initiative, the Saudi Press Agency reported recently.
Hadiyah seeks to provide pilgrims with translation services, information on the Grand Mosque in the holy city of Mecca and other holy sites during the annual pilgrimage.
Three-hundred volunteers are involved in the project.
Turki Al-Hetershi, Hadiyah’s executive director, emphasized that the charity provides a platform for individuals who want to do volunteer work.
The aim is to have 1 million volunteers participate.
Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
